Children’s creativity drops with age | 孩子的創造力隨著年齡而減弱

HK Situation | 香港現況

“By 2025, 85 million jobs may be displaced by a shift in the division of labour between humans and machines.”

– World Economic Forum, Future of Jobs Report 2020

According to the Future of Jobs Report by the World Economic Forum, [1] It stated 85 million jobs will be replaced by machines. It urges us to equip future skills, such as creativity. But in Hong Kong, creativity is still perceived as a gap to be filled by the current education system. [2]

根據世界經濟論壇在未來工作報告中,我們現有的大部分工種將被機器取代。[1]世界急需我們學習未來技能,例如:創意。但是,在香港,創意這一技能在現行教育體制還是未能符合香港各持份者的期望。[2]

Under this context, my research area focuses on studying the problems of HK children’s creativity drops with age and delivering a solution to the problem. PLAY | 玩樂

PLAY is developed by MIT LAB. A framework that provides an environment for children's creativity to grow. We apply this framework to our design. So, children can embrace creativity easily. | PLAY是由麻省理工學院媒體實驗室研發的一套方法。目的是提供一個合適的環境,作為孩子的創意空間。我們應用這套方法設計學習體驗,可以令孩子更多空間擁抱創意。

Double Diamond | 雙鑽石模型

A framework that divides thinking process into different stages for children to retain their ability and desire to be creative. Along with design thinking, we can train children to develop creative problem solving skill and mindset. | 這套架構能讓孩子懂得在不同的思考過程中作出不同行動,務求發揮更多創意。再配合設計思維,不單提升孩子的創造力,更可學會解難技巧和思維。

Participatory Design | 參與式設計

A design methodology that involves key stakeholders in the design process. It can ensure the outcomes that suit the stakeholders' needs. We invite children, parents and teachers to participate in our design process to ensure the learning experience fulfilled their needs. |這套方法需要主要持份者加入設計過程,令設計產品符合持份者的需要。我們邀請了孩子、家長及老師參與學習體驗的設計過程,確保整個學習體驗符合他們的需要。
